Itinerary
The trip starts with a taxi ride from Chandigarh to Dharamshala, which would cover nearly 250 km in 6-7 hours. Enjoy the purest sceneries of Shivalik hills along the road. On arrival check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring local markets or relaxing.
Early in the morning, go to McLeod Ganj, which is about 20 mins from Dharamshala. Stroll around the Dalai Lama Temple, Bhagsunag Waterfall, and Bhagsunag Temple. In the afternoon, visit the Church of St. John in the Wilderness and Dal Lake. Relax in the evening in the peaceful ambience of this hill station.
After breakfast, proceed to drive to Dalhousie, which is about 120 kilometers away and takes about four hours. On arriving, check-in at your hotel. In the evening, take a walk down Mall Road and enjoy the old-world charm of this beautiful hill station.
Proceed for a day trip to Khajjiar which is called the mini Switzerland of India. This place is situated roughly 1 hour from Dalhousie. Spend your time strolling around the lush green meadows, enjoy a peaceful lake, and try out paragliding and horse riding. Return to Dalhousie in the evening and explore places like Panchpula and St. Francis Church.
