Itinerary

Chandigarh to Narkanda(6-7 hours)

Start your journey from Chandigarh to Sarahan, passing through Shimla and Kufri. Enjoy scenic views of mountains and valleys along the way. Upon arrival, visit the Bhimakali Temple and relax at your hotel for the night.

Narkanda to Sangla

After breakfast, drive up to Sangla, around 160 km, which can take between 6 and 7 hours. Appreciate the breathtaking views across the Sutlej River and the apple orchards along the stretch, because on arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening discovering the beautiful Sangla Valley.

Sangla to Kalpa via Chitkul

Wake up in the morning to visit Chitkul, the last surviving village under the Indo-Tibetan border. This place is about an hour’s drive from Sangla. As soon as you finish exploring Chitkul, continue driving to Kalpa which might take about 3-4 hours. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy the scenic views of the Kinner Kailash range.

Kalpa to Tabo

Drive on from Kalpa to Tabo every morning with an approximate distance of 160 km covering 7-8 hours. On the way, pass through Puh and Nako. Visit the Nako Lake and the 1000 years old Tabo Monastery famous for its spiritual importance and beautiful wall paintings. Overnight in Tabo.

Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar

It is a drive of approximately 50 kilometers, and takes about 2-3 hours from here to reach Kaza. Visit the Dhankar Monastery and Dhankar Lake on the way. After enjoying both places, continue your journey to Kaza, which is the headquarters of Spiti Valley. Check into your hotel.

Kaza Local Sightseeing

Visit Kaza for a day of attractions rare to the area. Explore Key Monastery, Kibber Village, Chicham Bridge, and high-altitude villages such as Langza, Hikkim, and Komik. Return to Kaza in the evening for an overnight stay.

Kaza to Kalpa

The return voyage from Kaza to Kalpa must be undertaken on the identical route. The drive of hardly 7-8 hours will allow you to experience and relish again the beautiful landscapes of the valleys of Spiti and Kinnaur. After this, one stays overnight in Kalpa.

Kalpa to Chandigarh(10-11 hours)

Early check-out from your hotel and begin traveling back to Chandigarh. It is a distance of 350 kilometers and takes about 10-11 hours. Now enjoy the picturesque views once more before completing the incredible Kinnaur-Kaza travel.
